sequestra

sequestra develops and commercializes technologies for the permanent binding of CO₂ in industrial residual materials, with the goal of reintroducing these materials as secondary raw materials in the construction sector. This technology segment is considered the only legally recognized form of permanent industrial CO₂ utilization in the EU.

The sequestra team is developing technologies on two levels. On the one hand, it is creating the world’s first fully automated analysis technology for assessing CO₂ storage potential and optimal parameters in carbonation. Starting in early 2026, this will enable standardized evaluations of a wide range of mineral materials and gradually build the largest empirical database in the field of carbonation. Additionally, the company is developing technologies for industrial-scale carbonation in steelworks, the construction industry, and waste incineration plants.

In the medium term, sequestra will offer a complete service package, including initial material assessments, the design and monitoring of industrial process technologies, and consulting on the final use of the materials.

„We firmly believe that the complex challenges of heavy industrial decarbonization in the recycling sector can only be addressed through data-driven processes. With sequestra, we aim to establish ourselves as a global leader in the field of data-optimized carbonation of mineral materials.“
